The role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, data engineering, governance, security, and cost optimization using Microsoft Azure and Databricks Lakehouse architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud & Data ArchitectureDesign and implement end-to-end Lakehouse architectures on Azure using Databricks.Architect scalable data pipelines using Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers aligned with Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.Design ingestion, transformation, and analytics workflows integrating Azure services.Databricks Platform EngineeringImplement and manage Databricks clusters (classic & serverless).Optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across workloads.Architect control plane vs data plane separation ensuring security and compliance.Data Governance & SecurityImplement Unity Catalog for centralized governance, lineage, and access control.Integrate Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for SSO and RBAC.Use Azure Key Vault for secrets and credential management.Implement security monitoring with Microsoft Defender for Cloud.Azure IntegrationIntegrate Databricks with ADLS Gen2, Azure Synapse, Power BI, Azure Monitor, and other Azure services.Ensure observability, logging, and monitoring of data platforms.Cost & Performance OptimizationDesign cost-efficient architectures and cluster policies.Monitor resource utilization and optimize compute/storage costs.Must-Have SkillsStrong experience in Cloud Development & Cloud Architecture (Azure)Deep expertise in Azure DatabricksExperience designing Lakehouse architecturesData governance using Unity CatalogAzure security: Entra ID, Key Vault, Defender for CloudQualificationsBachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldAzure Certifications (Preferred):Azure Solutions Architect ExpertDatabricks Data Engineer / Architect certifications
