Job OverviewData Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the organisation’s data governance strategy by ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance across business domains. This role focuses on analysing, profiling, and validating data to enable accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making.The individual will collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to embed data governance principles, maintain metadata standards, and drive continuous improvement in data management practices.Primary ResponsibilitiesData Quality and Governance• Implement and maintain data quality checks, validation rules, and profiling processes across key data domains.• Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Solvency II) and internal data governance frameworks.Data Analysis and Reporting• Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.• Produce accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and insights for business stakeholders using tools such as Power BI and SQL.• Support data lineage and impact analysis to ensure transparency and traceability of critical data elements.Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement• Work closely with data owners, stewards, and business units to resolve data issues and improve data quality.• Act as a trusted advisor on data-related matters, promoting best practices and a culture of data-driven decision-making.Continuous Improvement• Contribute to initiatives that enhance data governance maturity, including automation of data quality processes.• Recommend improvements to data models, metadata management, and master data practices.Risk Management• Identify and escalate data-related risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.• Support audits and regulatory reviews by providing accurate data and documentation.Knowledge, Skills and BehavioursEducation:• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience:• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or data management roles.• Strong understanding of data quality principles, data modelling, and regulatory compliance requirements.• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata management, with working knowledge of Microsoft Purview considered a strong advantage.Certifications (preferred):• DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Microsoft Power BI Certification, or similar.Technical Skills:• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and data profiling tools.Analytical and Problem-Solving:• Ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.Collaboration and Communication:• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in business terms.Adaptability:• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.Utmost Group is an equal opportunities employerBefore you give us your personal information it is important that you know what your data protection rights are and how and why we use your personal information.
