We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to design and scale cloud-based data platforms built on AWS and Snowflake. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, working closely with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure and scalable data solutions within a data-driven, regulated environment.The roleLead the design and implementation of data solutions across AWS and SnowflakeBuild and optimise scalable data pipelines for warehousing and analyticsDevelop robust ingestion and transformation frameworks using Python and SparkEnsure data quality, integrity, governance and security standards are metOptimise storage and query performance across cloud data platformsMentor junior engineers and set technical standards across the teamCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into production-ready solutionsExperience8+ years in data engineering, with strong delivery ownership5+ years working with Big Data technologies in cloud environmentsStrong hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python and PySparkProven AWS experience (Glue, EMR, S3, Aurora, RDS and broader AWS architecture)Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL frameworks and data modellingExperience coding, debugging, performance tuning and deploying to productionFamiliarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitExposure to data migration and modern modelling approaches (e.g. Data Vault 2.0) is advantageous
