Each hotel can have 20+ operational systems. You’ll own ingestion, a reliable System of Record, and a governed transformation layer using dbt to produce stable analytical tables for our AI agents and analytics, even when upstream schemas constantly change.ResponsibilitiesBuild and operate ingestion pipelines from many hotel systems (API, file drops, databases, browser automation)Design raw → standardized → curated layers and a canonical hotel data model.Own the dbt transformation layer:build models (incremental where possible)add tests (schema + business rules)generate docs + lineageenforce CI checks on PRsSolve schema drift:detect changes earlykeep transformations backward-compatiblemanage migrations/versioning without breaking downstream tablesBuild “gold” analytical tables and semantic views used by AI agents and reporting.Own reliability of the data platform, including on-call readiness and production incident resolution.Required SkillsExperience building data platforms on AWS (RDS/Postgres, S3, IAM, CloudWatch or equivalents).dbt in production (models, tests, docs, exposures, CI/CD; incremental models strongly preferred).Strong SQL + data modeling (facts/dims + event/state modeling)Postgres production experience as a System of Record (performance tuning, indexing, partitioning strategies, managing analytical load alongside writes).ETL/ELT pipeline ownership end-to-endOrchestration + CI/CD (Airflow/Dagster/Prefect + GitHub Actions or similar)Proven experience handling messy sources and evolving schemasStrongly PreferredExperience with a modern analytics engine/warehouse (Trino/Presto, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks) or experience moving analytics workloads off Postgres as data/concurrency growsParquet/lakehouse basics (Iceberg/Delta/Hudi)Data quality tooling (Great Expectations/Soda/custom checks)PII/security patternsNice to HaveExperience with hotel / hospitality systems (PMS, CRS, Channel Manager, POS)Familiarity with dbt best practices (incremental models, tests, docs)Schema drift / data contracts experienceCDC or event-based ingestionData quality / observability toolingStartup or greenfield data platform experience
