What You'll OwnThis is a strategic build-and-embed role with real enterprise reach.Key areas of responsibility include:Setting the direction for enterprise data and AI governanceDefining ownership, stewardship, and accountability for critical data assetsEnsuring data used for analytics and AI is reliable, well-documented, and audit-readyDesigning governance models that balance innovation with regulatory and privacy obligationsEmbedding governance into day-to-day delivery across technology and business teamsBuilding and leading a specialist governance functionActing as a senior voice on responsible and scalable AI adoptionYou will work closely with executive stakeholders across technology, risk, legal, and the business. What They're Looking ForThis role requires both strategic credibility and practical delivery experience.Strong candidates typically bring:Senior experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategyBackground operating in regulated, complex environmentsProven ability to influence at executive level and drive cross-functional changeDeep understanding of data quality, lineage, stewardship, and metadata managementHands-on exposure to modern governance tooling and platformsExperience building or scaling governance operating modelsCertifications such as DAMA, DCAM, Collibra or similar are valued but not the main driver.Most importantly, you understand how strong governance enables AI rather than slows it down.
