This is a build, scale and lead role.The OpportunityAs Head of Data, you’ll own the end-to-end data strategy, defining how data is collected, engineered, governed, analysed and monetised across the organisation.You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team spanning:Data EngineeringReporting & AnalyticsData OperationsMachine LearningYou’ll create a high-performing function that delivers measurable commercial and operational value.What You’ll Be DoingDefining and driving the organisation’s data strategy and roadmapDesigning and securing a modern data platform (Azure Databricks + pipelines + governance)Building scalable, robust data infrastructure to support enterprise reportingDelivering self-service analytics capabilitiesLeading the development of predictive analytics and ML solutionsChampioning data quality, governance and best practiceCollaborating with Product, Engineering and commercial stakeholdersHiring, mentoring and scaling a high-performing data teamThis is a leadership role with strategic weight, but they want someone who can still dive into architecture and technical decision-making when required.What They’re Looking ForProven experience leading data teams in fast-paced, data-intensive environmentsStrong background in Azure Databricks, Spark and PythonExperience building data platforms and teams from scratchStrong SQL experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL)Experience driving data monetisation and insight-led decision makingDeep understanding of governance, compliance and secure-by-design principlesComfortable operating in ambiguity and scaling environmentsYou’ll likely thrive here if you:Balance strategic thinking with hands-on capabilityHave a security-first mindsetEnjoy building capability, not just managing itStay curious about emerging tools and ML innovationIf you’re a senior data leader looking to build something meaningful, not just inherit legacy, this could be a strong next move.
