Junior Data Engineer - 5 days a week in London - Up to £45k plus bonus About the CompanyAn established private equity investor is building out its data capability to better support investment decisions across EMEA. The firm is investing heavily in its data platform and is looking for a Junior Data Engineer to help strengthen the technical foundations of this function.About the RoleYou will join a small, high calibre Research and Technology team that partners directly with investment professionals. The team is responsible for transforming fragmented internal and market data into structured, reliable intelligence that informs deal execution, portfolio strategy and capital deployment. This role would suit someone early in their data engineering career who enjoys problem solving, working with cloud technologies and building scalable solutions in a commercial environment.ResponsibilitiesDesigning and maintaining data pipelines that ingest and consolidate data from multiple internal systems and third party providersAutomating manual data processes and improving the reliability and scalability of existing infrastructureSupporting the migration of legacy spreadsheets and ad hoc datasets into a structured cloud environmentWorking with AWS based technologies and SQL driven environments to optimise extraction, transformation and loading processesDeveloping dashboards and analytical tooling to provide visibility on investment performance and operational metricsImplementing data validation frameworks to ensure accuracy, governance and consistencyCollaborating closely with investment, finance and asset management stakeholders to translate business questions into technical solutionsQualifications1 to 3 years of experience in a data engineering, analytics engineering or similar technical role.Required SkillsStrong working knowledge of SQL and PythonExposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and modern data warehousing conceptsExperience with BI tools such as Tableau is beneficial but not essentialStrong academic background in a quantitative disciplineClear, structured thinker with strong attention to detailComfortable working in a fast paced, performance driven environmentProactive mindset with a desire to continuously improve systems and processes
