You'll lead a squad of 5-7 talented engineers, architecting and delivering production-grade GenAI capabilities on a modern AWS serverless platform. This is a true player-coach role - you'll code, you'll lead, and you'll own outcomes end-to-end.Why This Role?Build Meaningful AI: Work on real-world GenAI features (RAG, LLM applications, agentic workflows) that are already in the hands of users, not just proofs-of-concept.Own the Stack: Architect and ship cloud-native solutions on AWS with serverless, event-driven patterns, and Infrastructure-as-Code.Lead with Impact: Mentor a high-performing team while staying deeply hands-on in architecture, design, and delivery.Scale What Matters: Solve complex challenges at the intersection of AI, cloud, and human-centric healthcare—impacting millions globally.What We're Looking ForEssential Experience:7+ years in software design and development, with 4+ years as a significant individual contributor delivering production software.3+ years leading software engineering teams through multiple product or platform releases.Strong expertise in Python and AWS serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions).Deep experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).Proven track record designing and building event-driven and message-based architectures.Hands-on experience with NoSQL and relational databases.Production experience with GenAI: designing, implementing, and optimising LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, vector search, or agentic AI systems.Solid understanding of prompt engineering, grounding, evaluation, and responsible AI practices.Nice to Have:Mobile development experience (iOS/Android with Swift/Kotlin).Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.Prior experience building customer-facing products at scale.Strong salary, comprehensive benefits, and hybrid flexibility (2-3 days in our modern Sandyford office).
