Lead Data ArchitectContact Details: Samuel.Robinson@forsythbarnes.comAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Lead Data Architect to join a growing, specialist UK bank that is investing significantly in becoming a data-driven organisation. As part of this transformation, the bank is implementing a modern data platform built around a Snowflake data warehouse, Tableau reporting, and a new data governance operation.In this role, you will own the design of the organisation’s data model, ensuring it meets business requirements and aligns with agreed standards. You will work closely with both IT and business stakeholders to design scalable, high-quality data structures that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 50% of time spent in the London office.Key Responsibilities• Own the design of the enterprise data model, ensuring alignment with business requirements and agreed standards (e.g. Data Vault)• Conceive and design data structures and integrations that enable efficient delivery of business objectives• Ensure data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical) is maintained to a high standard across the organisation• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business goals• Support the execution of agreed data control and governance methods and processes• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand business processes, source system schemas, and their impact on data platform design• Document detailed specifications for ETL developers and provide design assurance across multiple projects• Investigate business data questions and challenges to determine effective and efficient solutions• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders• Develop high- and low-level designs, including the overarching data platform data model• Mentor data platform teams on data modelling methodologies and best practicesSkills & Experience• Proven experience in data warehouse modelling (e.g. Data Vault, Kimball, 3NF), potentially gained in roles such as Data Engineer or Data Analyst• Advanced SQL knowledge• Strong knowledge of modern data technologies, including Snowflake• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities• Ability to troubleshoot complex data and architecture issues• Detail-oriented approach to designing robust and scalable data models• Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking skillsBenefits• Competitive remuneration• Discretionary annual bonus• Annual pay review• Private medical insurance• Mental health and wellbeing support• 25 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus holiday buy scheme• Cycle to Work scheme and Green Car scheme• Enhanced family leave policies• Study support and professional memberships• Hybrid working (50/50)
