


Senior Pre-Sales Engineer - AI & DataLondon - Hybrid (3 days onsite) | up to £85,000 + car allowance + bonusI'm working with a fast-scaling data and AI organisation, part of a wider global group, who are building out their UK presence following their strongest year to date.They develop and deliver AI-driven products and services into UK utilities and other data-rich enterprise environments. With a strong pipeline already in place and new AI and agentic solutions coming to market, they're now hiring a senior Pre-Sales Engineer to support continued growth across the UK.Despite the title, this is a senior individual contributor role. The "Manager" designation reflects the level and package structure rather than people management responsibility.The RoleThis sits right between product and revenue.You'll partner with Sales to engage UK utility clients, design and run tailored demos and POCs, and translate complex AI capability into clear operational and commercial outcomes.This is not quota-carrying sales. It's about increasing win rates by:Running sharp, customer-specific demosDelivering focused 1-2 week proof of conceptsAssessing client data maturity and integration feasibilityTranslating features into measurable business impactActing as the technical-commercial bridge between customer and productYou'll work closely with product, data science and marketing, feeding real market signals back into roadmap and messaging.What Success Looks LikeWithin the first 6 months, you'll be:Increasing lead-to-prospect and prospect-to-customer conversionImproving win rates by 15-20%Confidently leading technical discussions with senior operational stakeholdersDesigning POCs that prove value quickly without turning into delivery projectsYour BackgroundYou're likely coming from:Pre-Sales / Solutions EngineeringTechnical ConsultingOr a senior Data Scientist / AI Engineer role with strong client exposureYou'll bring:Strong Python and SQL fundamentalsExperience working with modern data platforms (Databricks, data lakes, ML environments)Confidence building lightweight demo environmentsThe ability to explain AI and analytics in business languageGenuine commercial curiosityUtilities experience is helpful but not essential.
